Bible Verses on Faith – Part 2

faithworks

For I am not ashamed of the Good News of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek. For in it is revealed God’s righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, “But the righteous shall live by faith.” – Romans 1:16-17, WEB-BE

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not towards God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed. But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. – Romans 4:2-5, WEB-BE

Without being weakened in faith, he didn’t consider his own body, already having been worn out, (he being about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. Yet, looking to the promise of God, he didn’t waver through unbelief, but grew strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was also able to perform. Therefore it also was “credited to him for righteousness.” – Romans 4:19-22, WEB-BE

“The word is near you, in your mouth, and in your heart”; that is, the word of faith, which we preach: that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.” – Romans 10:8-11, WEB-BE

That your faith might not stand on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God. – 1 Corinthians 2:5, DRB

Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be courageous! Be strong! Let all that you do be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, WEB-BE

Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; for we walk by faith, not by sight. – 2 Corinthians 5:6-7, WEB

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me. – Galatians 2:20, WEB

The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you will all the nations be blessed.” – Galatians 3:8, WEB

For you are all children of God, through faith in Christ Jesus. – Galatians 3:26, WEB

…for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.. – Ephesians 2:8-9, WEB

Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace; above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. – Ephesians 6:14-16, WEB

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7, WEB

Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1, WEB

Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. – Hebrews 11:6, WEB

What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets; who, through faith subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee. – Hebrews 11:32-34, WEB

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. – James 1:2-4, WEB

But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For that man shouldn’t think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. – James 1:6-8, WEB

What good is it, my brothers, if a man says he has faith, but has no works? Can that faith save him? – James 2:14, WEB

Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself. Yes, a man will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I by my works will show you my faith. You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder. But do you want to know, vain man, that faith apart from works is dead? – James 2:17-20, WEB

Is any amongst you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. – James 5:14-15, WEB

Wherein you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been put to grief in various trials, that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ… – 1 Peter 1:6-7, WEB

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? – 1 John 5:4-5, WEB
