I’m currently on vacation at Sydney, Australia. There are so many things that’s new, so many experiences in such a short time that I rarely had the time to jot down anything in my journal. But here is my first attempt to do so.
Things are very different here in Sydney as compared to where I came from. It’s like a big melting pot of different cultures, anywhere you go you see people from different Nationalities, European and Asian alike, walking side by side. It’s funny because it’s when I’m here in a foreign land that I’m able to appreciate better who I am, that I’m able to feel more the uniqueness of my ethnicity and birth. There are a lot of good things in here, but one can’t also help but appreciate what one already has. I guess that’s enlightenment. Enlightenment is being aware of how beautiful and blessed one really is.
I have felt my soul’’s vibration, how different it is from the vibration of other souls. And I realized why I ‘chose’ to be born where I was born, so I can have this unique music and warmth in my being. I realized how every pain has helped shaped my heart, how every difficulty has added a colorful tone in the beating of my heart.
This trip has taught me a lot, and has helped me grow both in courage and in understanding.
Before this trip, there were so many things I’ve been afraid of. I didn’t even know if my plane could safely land! Yet everyday here, I am able to learn something new and I am able to overcome my fears one by one.
I salute all the migrant people who are able to overcome their fears, and who are able to conquer new worlds. It takes an extraordinary amount of courage to do so.
What’s important with overcoming our fears is that from there, we start to have a real choice. It is only at that point when we become truly equipped to decide which path we should take.
I’m still learning, I don’t know which path to take yet. But things are looking good, and I can feel God’s guiding hand. Things are unfolding at just the right time that they should.

Hi Jocelyn,
Enjoy your time on vacation, and all the new experiences it brings. And really, all the fears you’re facing - how awesome that is!
