Look Back

Look Back

His smile,
his gaze,
his touch.

The way he holds my hand,
the way he makes me feel
as though everything is still possible,
as though every dream is within my reach.

These are the things
I must recall
whenever I feel that love
is slowly fading away.

I must look back
at the very beginning
when love was new and strong
and full of promise.
I must remember…
I must never forget
the day I caught
a glimpse of heaven.
