There are times when I feel like the world is unfair.
Why is it that there are children who are born to very rich families and provided with more than they could ever need while there are children who are born in poverty with mothers who could hardly feed them?
Why is it that there are children who are so loved and taken care of while there are children who are sexually molested and abused by their own parents?
Why is it that there children who are so fortunate to be able to study in exclusive schools while there are those who couldn’t even go to school because they needed to work, to find some junk in heaps of garbage just to help their family?
Why is it that there are children who could enjoy their childhood and be happy playing with other children while there are those who have disabilities or who are already sick and dying of cancer?
And all along, people tell us to be happy, as though there is nothing wrong in all the world, and as though everything is fair and just.
There is injustice everywhere. There is lack of love everywhere. And even if people declare peace, there is really violence and evil.
The world is unfair. But I guess we can only say that if we believe in ‘fairness’ and ‘justice’, if we believe in God. And if we do, we don’t believe that this world is all there is. There will be a time for fairness and for justice. There will be another world far better than this dark one we’re living in. For now, we have the opportunity to be true instruments of peace.

I do wonder about these things, too, Jocelyn. But I also believe that everything happens for a reason, even if that reason is difficult to comprehend at the time of suffering, someday it will be clear. And that God is never really far away. Times of suffering and despair is when we should cling to God the most. God bless. <3 🙂
AMEN! We can’t solve all the madness of this world, but what we can do is offer HOPE, in God. For without hope, the children will perish.
Dear Joyce, my consolation is the blessed hope that one day, when the government shall be upon His shoulders, every tear will be wiped away from every eye. No more pain or suffering.
For now, I rest on the promises that:
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.

Yes. The world is unfair…It’s unfair because sometimes we get to be the first to ride a cab when everyone else is trying their very best to get one. It’s unfair because we are physically fit and others are born deformed…Yes the world is unfair…But we have to remember, sometimes it’s FOR US and sometimes it’s AGAINST US….Though, those times when the world is against us seems more than those times when it is FOR US….We just have to deal with it and live our lives to the best that we can, live with as much pride in our honesty and humility in all adversities….I TOO THINK THE WORLD IS UNFAIR
