A Dialogue before Reincarnation

David- Isn’t it unfair? Those murderers are still out there, given a chance to redeem their lives, while I’m here, and my wife’s been murdered for no reason? Where is justice at all?

Samuel- You have a choice even unto eternity. That’s why people like me come here again and again, that the choice may be presented to you. Otherwise, all that you will ever get to see is darkness and you will forget how light ever existed at all.

Samuel - heaven is a long way, while rebirth is an easy alternative and many choose it to escape from here when they can bear no more. They have only to plunge unto that lake and all will be settled. I do not recommend it though. It is better to work from where you are rather than start all over with nothing. No matter how much a failure your life seemed to be, there were priceless jewels of virtue, wisdom and love, memories you had that you can’t just throw away. Yes, even your tears are worth keeping.

David- But they say when you get back you will remember everything.

Samuel - Put it this way. When you get back, you will see something like a motion picture of your previous lives. But you will see it as though you were merely an audience, not an actor. When you lose your soul, you lose everything. That is the second death.

“For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world yet loses his own soul”

The above scene seems dark, yet it may be Light indeed compared to the darkness of the Truth which transpires for those who have stubbornly refused Mercy and chosen the bitter yet righteous Judgment that commences thereafter.

Having cast ourselves into the indescribable pitch darkness of it all, could we ever find there some glimmer of hope to cling on to? Where can we find it if our very hearts refuses the very sanctity of the Ultimate Sacrifice? Can we find it with others who have cast themselves into the darkness as well? Can we find it with those fallen beings who for all eternity will never change their minds in refusing the very light that can comfort them in their darkness?

In alchemy, we have to have some gold in order to create gold. For we cannot create something out of nothing. Where shall the golden light come from where darkness is and light is not?

Only on earth do we find both light and darkness, morning and evening, summer and winter, evil and good. Duality is here intermingled and given time before the final separation at the last appointed time. Will there be a seed of Light within you to give you a glimmer of hope where you might ever go?

Is Eternity a Curse?

Many people work tirelessly just to find out if there is indeed life after death. For the old alchemists, there is no greater joy than to find the elixir of life. In recent times, NDEs or near death experiences have become more prevalent and are sought for proof of the life beyond. We all seem to long for immortality, and not many are willing to accept that this life is all we’ve got.

But is eternity always a blessing? Shall we be happy to find out the mere fact that we are all eternal and that we shall never really die? Is that the end of all our sufferings?

Many Christians do not think so, for with the existence of eternal life and heaven, the existence of hell also comes into play. For Eastern Religions, too, the succession of never ending reincarnations seem more like a curse than a blessing, a curse that should be broken through enlightenment. For atheists, a vision of a life lived over again is empty compared to the valuable moment that will never pass our way again.

To some extent, I believe in that. In my own belief, “Hell” indeed is being stuck. This curse is hence symbolised by the circle, which is the false symbol of eternity and perfection. The circle is like the number zero, a life lived that merely goes back where it came from and amounts to nothing in the end. It is the eradication of the self and the absorption of everything into nothingness.

Perfection for me is symbolized by the infinity sign, a sign telling us that though life can be eternal, it is not zero, that though there can be unity, the separate persons embracing each other are not eradicated.

This infinity sign however was cut into two circles thru sin, hence, we were trapped in endless and meaningless cycles. We were separated from God and from perfectly loving each other. Hence came the bar between the two circles, a bar remedied by Jesus thru the cross. It is the cross that bridged the gap and restored perfection in infinity, a perfection of love, for where there is no love, there is no need for eternity.
