If I Were Always Strong

Single Oak Tree at Sunset

If I were always strong in my life’s journey, how could I understand those who experience times of weakness? If I never tire, would I ever have sympathy for those who faint?

It is because I knew how to be thirsty that I wish to give a drink to those who thirst. It is because I knew how to stumble that I desire to lend a hand to those who fall.

Not every misfortune is a defeat, for many our blessings in disguise. When we are weak, could it be that we are being made strong? When we hunger, could it be that we are truly being filled?

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
