The Courage That Overcomes Fear

courageismore2

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston Churchill

There is a kind of courage that comes from not knowing the dangers one is about to face. Youth seems to have a lot of this kind of courage, this boldness to venture into the unknown. But there is another kind of courage, one with eyes wide open to the risks one is going to take. It knows what it is about to face. It may have even experienced the hurt of defeat. Nevertheless, its heart is strengthened and is ready to face its greatest fears because no matter how big his fears are, they are nothing compared to his greatest dreams.

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27 (NKJV)
