To Give Without Conditions

givetoangels2

“Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Something happens when you give without asking, without conditions, without reservation. Something happens when you give with a smile instead of a frown, and when you give with a prayer instead of a curse.

When you give a coat to a grown man, you may not know that he has a child who is sick and who badly needed the warmth of your gift. When you give food to a beggar, you may not know it, but the little that you have given could even be shared to feed his neighbors who also starve.

Yours could be the only hand that could reach someone. Your trust could be the only light that could give hope to someone who has been rejected all his life.

We don’t always have to know everything that happens with our gift. It is enough that we have given with love and that we trust in the God whose blessings never run out.

“…for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.” – Matthew 25:35-36, WEB
