I do not control everything
but to some extent
I am in control of something
I am in control of myself
And in so doing
I influence a lot of things
I enable forces to act or not to act
I control how I’d act or react
I am a co-creator of my own Universe
and have been given the gift of will
Even when things go out of hand
I can choose to despair or to hope
to feel trapped or to surrender
to a Higher Power
a Higher Power that will see me through
and that will never let me down
a Higher Power that is in control
of all things
I am in control of something
I am in control of myself
and in so being
I control my surrender to a Higher Power
Through surrendering
everything is under Perfect control.

Good context for a word that usually gets a bum wrap. Control, we do have choices about how we respond to life. I made a promise to myself that I would stay connected no matter what happened, instead of running off and hiding like I used to do.
