We have often complained about how other people treat us and how they affect us to a certain extent. But have we ever assessed what our own impact is in the lives of other people?
If you’d ever get to stand in their shoes, how would you see yourself? Would you see an understanding person? Or would you see someone judgemental? Would you see a responsible and mature parent? Or would you see a childish adult still unable to discipline himself and think how he’s affecting other people?
Our mere presence has an impact in others. Our words influence the minds and hearts of our family and friends. Sometimes we have a healing effect. At other times our behavior can be irritating and unpleasant.
What impact would you rather that you exude today?

Great post. This has really opened my mind and given me something to think about. It actually ties in with my post today, about how our happiness impacts the happiness of others. It’s important to really think about what we want to put out into the world, because, when it comes down to it, it really is all up to us!

@Positively Present - We can certainly be a lot happier when we all keep that in mind
Hi Joyce,
I think it is about “treat people as we want to be treated.”
Great post, Joyce. Thanks.

This is an important reminder to keep one eye on the mirror in order to understand the impact we have on the world around us. We always have an impact, it is up to us to choose if it is a negative or positive impact.

Hi Jocelyn .. thanks for reminding us that we need to keep an eye on how we react to others, what we do, what we feel and what we imply .. always start with a smile and light in our eyes = should guide us towards good reactions and a good response. Thanks

I particularly liked the line “our mere presence has an effect on others.” This is something we usually overlook — we think we’re the only ones who are aware of how we’re feeling inside, but human beings are much more empathic than we give each other credit for being, I think.
