Love, they say, is the complete opposite of fear. That thought worries me at times, because I cannot say that I’m that brave enough already to love. There are certain fears that still reside in my heart. But then again, when true love comes, it will certainly come as a mighty river, casting away all fears, making its way straight unto my heart! What is there to worry about when perfect love casts away all fears?

Know that the love you seek you already have! Seek not for that which you are, simply remember that you are love!
I love what Mark said, and believe that love is our natural state. Fear is learned, and can as easily be unlearned through mental training, surrender, and acceptance of present moment situations.
There is no greater feeling or reality than love — at least, that’s been my experience! You can do it!
@Megan - I really appreciate the encouragement!
You’re right, we learn so many things that should be unlearned, and that includes fear.
@Mark - Very encouraging words! I will remember that
Hi Jocelyn.
Fear does not resides in the heart, only love resides there but it cannot always express itself that eloquently as the mind can. Fear resides in the mind and as the mind is very outspoken it can talk over the heart, just like loud people can talk over quiet ones.
When your heart gets stronger by doing more things you love and be amongst loving people, your heart will be able to override that mind and its shouting.
I think you are well on the way though, it all starts with observing and becoming aware of that shouting mind.
@Wilma Ham - Thank you for pointing that out! There are many times when mind and hearts seems to be struggling so much I could feel the tension in there. The mind insists on what it has learned, and sometimes, it insists based on past hurtful experiences that causes it to have fear. The heart on the other hand, if the heart be cleansed and pure could point out clearly what we ought to do in the moment, like a compass that can guide us through.
Hi Jocelyn - interesting thoughts - in your post and the coments above. I’m with the other commenters - when we clear away our fears, we can sense the love that is with us all the time anyway. Cheers - Robin
@Robin - Hi! Nice seeing you here!
I’m really thankful for blogging, it connects me to people like you who inspire me and give me useful perspectives when considering life issues. I’ve taken a leave from work today, and I can definitely feel my fears clearing away, giving way to love.
Seems easy for the ones who “unlearned” it. How can you? My biggest fear is being rejected again , like in my marriage. This pain is what I fear as it was the worst pain I have ever felt. Especially after having given my ALL!
