I Go Back To Days of Youth

I Go Back To Days of Youth

I go back to the days of my youth

when I was full of hope, of trust, and of love.

I go back to a grateful heart,

happy for all the blessings God has given me.

I go back when I was loved,

when I was with the people

who cared for me the most.

I go back to humility,

eager to learn everything

God is teaching me from day to day.

I go back to confidence,

believing in how wonderfully

and lovingly I have been conceived.

I go back with the eyes of wonder,

and with the heart of a child

in awe of all the beauty of the earth.

I go back to strength,

I go back to courage,

I go back to dreams

that have propelled me

to where I am today.

I go back home to where my heart is,

and to where I shall always return,

however high I soar,

however far I seem to be.

If People Knew You

if people knew you 2012

If People Knew You

People don’t really know you.

If they knew you

they’d understand you,

they wouldn’t judge you

they wouldn’t turn their backs

and walk away;

they’d stop saying those words,

those harsh

and hurtful words

because they’d know the pain it would cost you,

they’d know how long and hard

your healing would be,

and how long you’d close your heart

for fear of letting in the people you can no longer trust.

If people knew you,

if they really knew you,

they’d love you,

they’d find a way

to know

how to really really love.

Without a Home

without a home 2012There are times
when I still feel like a stranger in this world,
like nobody knows me,
and I don’t know anybody who’s there for me.

I want to go home,
but I can’t go home yet,
and I remain where I’m lost
and cold
and forgotten.

When will I be able to see the dawn again,
when will I be free
to go where I want to go?

No more a stranger,
no more a nobody,
no more alone,
and without a home.

I’m Taking It All In

I'm taking it all in right now poem 2012I’m Taking It All In

I’m taking it all in now
savoring each precious moment
that I have with you.
I’m breathing the air you breathe,
I’m touching your skin,
I’m looking at your face,
trying to memorize your smile.

I’m taking it all in now
for I shall never pass this way again,
I’m hearing your voice,
I’m hearing your laughter,
I’m seeing you,
I’m smelling you,
I’m walking side by side with you,
down the streets we’ve always loved to walk.

I’m taking it all in now
and I can’t waste a precious moment.
Each second counts, each minute is a gift,
no moment shall pass by, without me seizing it!
Living it! Taking it!
Filling it with all the love
I could possibly give away!

I’m taking it all in now,
I’m filling my soul with things that last,
etched upon my heart forever,
embedded always in my mind,
in my soul, in my very spirit!
I take what God has given,
eternal treasures that won’t ever slip away.

I’m taking it all in now,
I’m drinking it, receiving it,
basking in it with arms opened wide!
I’m here
You are here
This time is sacred,
and I’m taking it all in right now.

Day of Grace

I’ve found a lovely poem written by Mark W. Fields titled “Day of Grace.”  You can find more of his works at this website- ASSORTED THOUGHTS.

day of grace 2012

Day of Grace

In midst the battle of the day,
When all hope faded away.
I sunk to my knees,
Hoping to state my pleas.

So to my Lord I turned in prayer,
Seeking His help right then and there.
And with a gentle voice He did say,
“My grace is sufficient, this day.”

How I wept there on the floor,
Broken and beaten to the core.
Then the Spirit spoke to my soul,
Lifted me up, made me whole.

My strength then came from the Lord.
Putting on His armor, taking His sword,
I re-entered the battles raging around;
Standing, defending His holy ground.

So on that day of grace,
I saw my Lord’s loving face.
And how quickly I came to see,
That day, His grace was sufficient for me.

Can You Imagine This?

can you imagine this 2012

Imagine all your needs being taken care of

Imagine all your prayers being answered

even before you’ve uttered them.

Imagine there’s someone who knows you,

knows you through and through,

and loves you just the same.

Imagine being led

from one joyous moment to the next.

Imagine being surprised,

finding gifts of love here and there

with no expectations of anything in return

except that you receive them,

with a joyful heart.

Now open your eyes and see -

You need not imagine anymore,

for God has been with you all along!

HEAVEN.
