Our Shared Memories

It’s so sad to lose our shared memories. It’s like losing a part of ourselves, especially when we want to travel back to those moments, but there is no one to go with us anymore. It is lonely, so sometimes, I try to think about eternity and how the past, present and future can exist together. When I enter eternity, I am no longer alone.

“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.” — Henry Van Dyke

To Live With an Open Heart

There are things you thought could make you happy. You looked up to it and focused your whole attention into it. You devoted all your waking hours and your sleepless nights. You pursued it no matter how difficult it has become. You held on to it only to find out that the end of your journey, it would never give you the fruits you have desired for so long. You have striven so much only to be disappointed in the end.

On the other hand, there are things that came gently and unannounced, made its way slowly into your heart and unexpectedly brought you warmth, joy and hope. Things that changed your life. Things that touched your heart and soul until you found yourself welling up with tears, being truly happy from the bottom of your heart.

In this life, we often tend to hold on too much to things that only disappoint us in the end. Learn also the art of gentleness and openness. Who knows what wonders await you if you are willing to receive such blessings within your heart?

No Matter What!

NO MATTER WHAT

Have you ever done something while saying to yourself, “I’ll do this no matter what!”? When was that time? It felt good, didn’t it? It may be a bit scary, committing like that, but it sure felt strong, that something mattered so much you were willing to put all your bet in it!

“I will do this even if my brother doesn’t like it.”

“I will take this course even if my parents get mad at me.”

“I will love this person even if the rest of the world protested.”

No matter what.

We need more NO MATTER WHATs in our lives. More risks worth taking, more challenges worth overcoming, for purposes that have always been clear to us.

I will do this no matter what because even in a single moment, I have felt alive. My life had meaning. I felt special.

I will do this no matter what because an eternity without it would be meaningless. This is the moment that matters. This is the moment that I live my full.

I will do this no matter what because this person is important to me. If I lose this person, I would forever lose a part of myself and I cannot afford that.

NO MATTER WHAT.

How about you? What are you willing to do no matter what?

A Beacon of Light in the Darkness

A Beacon of Light in the Darkness

Times are hard they say, the financial crisis is getting worse. People are anxious, everybody’s thinking for himself. Where do we go from here? Where do we find the light?

When all else is darkness, remember-

There is a place where darkness cannot prevail

there is a path where sunshine blesses still

where flowers grow in abundance

and the air is sweet.

Ten thousand may fall at your left

a hundred at your right,

yet you will not fall

if only you can believe.

Yea, there is a beacon of light

deep inside you

in that sacred space

which God Himself reserved

as His temple

as His sanctuary

and as your refuge amidst the storm

There is a beacon of light

that guides you still

even in the darkest night

even amidst the fiercest storm

Peace is yours

Joy is yours

if only in the moment

that you pray

Nothing touches you

that can harm your soul

or your heart

or your faith

or your song

The most sacred things are protected

forever

in that beacon of light

that shines through

beyond all time and space.
