Drawing The Line

You can persuade
but not manipulate
You can speak
but not kill with your words
You can sacrifice your body
but never your soul
You can give your life
but not take another’s
You can seek justice
but not vengeance
You can fight monsters
but never become one of them!

There are some things we can do
and some things we cannot do
If we truly wish for light to prevail
If we truly wish for good to triumph
then we must learn to draw the line somewhere
and not be the evil
we wish so much to conquer!

For the countless times I sinned
And you still took me in.
For the countless times I strayed

The Courage To Love

Love is not a mere sentiment. It is not something that merely makes us feel all good and light inside, something that warms us on a rainy day. Love is so much more than that!

Love is the fire that propels us onwards, it is the strength that helps us bear the storm. Love is the power that changes us for the better, that inspires us to sacrifice something we hold dear for the sake of our beloved ones.

Love is that courage we have to defend our loved ones, to stay with them even if we get nothing in return. For the reward of love is love itself. And its happiness is always in the heart of the one it loves.

Being True

Honesty doesn’t mean you have to reveal everything to people. There is some part in us that can be understood only by a few, some special place that can only be shared with those whom we love the most.

It doesn’t mean we have to lie. But it means having the right expectations, not assuming that everyone else will be able to share your happiness or to understand the days when you cry.

We don’t need the whole world’s applause just to know we’re living meaningful lives. Sometimes all we need is just a few people who know who we really are and who accept us and love us no matter what we’re going through.

What Frightens Us

Some people, when they are afraid, they become angry too, but then all that we can see is this anger, how they explode and seem to lose all control. What we do not see is this great fear within them, a helplessness masked by the outward rage.

Underneath it all is a vulnerability that has shielded itself so it can’t be touched. So no one may hear what it is really screaming about.

And that is why it takes much courage to love. While it is true that we must be cautious also, we must not be so frightened too much as to fail to see a heart that is only longing to be heard, to be loved.

The LORD himself… goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be discouraged. – Deuteronomy 31, WEBBE
