What Causes The Delay to Our Prayers?

what causes the delay to our prayersThere are times when we may think God does not hear us, or that His answer is already delayed. There was a time however when I’ve realized a purpose for that seeming DELAY or WAITING TIME in my life: He wanted me to reach a point where I’m totally uncertain what to do next so that my inner fears and wounds could be exposed for healing.

After that, I also realized I wasn’t really waiting for God’s answer. I wasn’t really waiting to know God’s will. I wanted to avoid certain things and situations that could bring back hurtful memories and my real prayer is that God’s will may coincide with bringing me out of such situations as well!

The delay was in truth also an answer for me, so that I may be able to face my fears and that I may be healed from them.

Delays therefore may only mean that we are asking for the wrong things, or that we do not recognize yet how God has already started to answer our prayers.

“But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed.” – Habakkuk 2:3, GNT

Let God Make Your Seeds Grow

let god make your seeds growI said, “I have worked, but how hopeless it is!
I have used up my strength, but have accomplished nothing.”
Yet I can trust the LORD to defend my cause;
he will reward me for what I do.
-Isaiah 49:4

It is not for me to worry about the fruits or the results of my labor. What I must do is to continue to plant good seeds and perform my part of the job. God will take care of the rest!

How often have we worried so much only to realize that we either couldn’t control the results of the situation or that the thing we worried so much about never really happened?

Whatever Happens

whatever happens poemWhatever happens, God is with me
and He shall be with me
wherever I may be,
Though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death,
though I see sickness and darkness and despair,
His hand will uphold me
and provide for me.

Whatever happens, God is with me
and He shall reward me
for what I do.
Though the seeds I plant seem not to grow,
though the battles I fight seem to fail,
His hand will save me
and comfort me with hope.

Whatever happens,
whatever sorrow or pain I may taste,
God is with me!
And He will never let me go…
He will bless me all my days
and I shall dwell in His house
where all my tears shall be no more!

What Does It Matter What They Say?

what does it matter what they sayWhat does it matter what they say,
what they say against you,
or how they look down and judge you?
What does it matter what they think of you,
when you know how you are
in the eyes of God?

What does it matter how they see you
or what fault they could find in you,
when you have already found forgiveness
from the One that you love?

What does it matter what they say or do?
You have found mercy and light,
and peace and hope.
You have been saved and destined for good
by the Lord whose words
shall have the final say as regards who you are?

What does it matter what they say?
What matters are the words
God Himself has promised you:
You are His. You are loved. You are etched forever
in the palm of His hand!

The Number One Cause of Our Stress!

the number one cause of our stressThere is but one major cause of our stress: our obsessive desire to meet our goals!  Attached to this is our fear of not meeting such goals, of the feeling of failure and of having our hopes dashed along the way.

Our goals may be composed of big and small ones, starting with achieving our dream job and financial status, of finding the people we’d keep for life, and even of meeting our deadlines, and of keeping up with other people’s expectations about us.

In the end though, how much of these could really be within our power to attain? Which of these are really vital for us to live meaningful lives?  And which of these even if not achieved could never destroy what’s truly important within us?

It’s not bad to plan, to prioritize and to schedule the attainment of our goals.  What causes our stress is our imbalanced anxiety if such goals couldn’t be attained.

To live a peaceful life with lesser stress, why not live with one major goal that would replace all the other goals in the top position of our priorities in life?  Why not make it a goal to accomplish the will of GOD?

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. – Psalm 37:4

Only that goal carries with it an assurance, that certainty of God’s promise to help us fulfill it, and by so fulfilling it, we also achieve the best course for our own lives.

Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully! -Matthew 5:6,TEV
