A Mother’s Love

godlymother

“No man is poor who has a Godly mother.”- Abraham Lincoln

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.”- Washington Irving

To what can we compare the great love of a mother? It is a love that is not selfish. It is a love that is very patient! It is a love that never grows tired or disheartened. It is a love that is giving, always giving and could never give enough. It is a love that is gentle and kind. It is a love that is strong, one that would defend her children though it costs her own life! It is a love that is never afraid of sacrifice, but one that would take on every suffering just to be able to save her child. It is a love that lingers long after it has been forgotten. It is a love that never dies.

There is no comparison on earth worthy to depict a mother’s love.

As one whom his mother comforts,
so I will comfort you.
-Isaiah 66:13, WEB-BE

Silent Heroes

valiant

Deeds will not be less valiant because they are unpraised. – Aragorn, Lord of the Rings

We don’t have to begin with a lot of noise. We can start quietly and faithfully with our task. Let others boast of their plans. Let them take pride in their bright ideas. But in the end, it is not the noise that matters, but the substance of what we really do.

We do good deeds not to acquire praise or recognition. We do them because it is right, because we are inspired by love. And love does not fade away because it is silent sometimes. Love is always there, and it could be doing more in times when it is silent than in times when it is heard.

God is the same. He gives us every good we do not deserve. He gives us His blessings even without our recognition.

What could have happened if the sun didn’t shine today because we failed to be grateful? Or if the trees no longer grew because we failed to notice them?

Many times, it is the deeds done in silence that truly counts because they have been done in sincerity. They were the ones done out of pure and faithful love.

“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. Therefore when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” – Matthew 6:1-4, WEB-BE

Time To Change The World

smallestperson

Even the smallest person can change the course of history. – Lady Galadriel, Lord of the Rings

It is time to change the world, your world. Don’t think that it’s impossible. Think instead that all things are possible for those who believe.

God believes in you, you know. He formed you in the womb and knew you even before you knew yourself.

He has great plans for your life. And if He has not yet revealed it to you, it could be that you would not be able to believe in them for now. You’d think it impossible to reach.

But what is impossible? What is it that God could not do?

God makes His miracles today as He has made them yesterday, and we are His greatest miracle!

Don’t think of your smallness, think instead of God’s greatness. Don’t think of your poverty, think of God’s great wealth! Don’t think of your fears, think of the courage God can bestow upon you.

It isn’t to the strong or to the swift that success comes. Many times, victory belongs to those who are little in the eyes of the world.

You can change the world. Let it begin by allowing God to change you and make His miracles in your life!

Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. – 1 Samuel 16:7, WEB-BE

Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!

This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!

Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
