When we face trials or uncertainties, it’s often God’s promises that provide the comfort and reassurance we need. 2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds us of the certainty and reliability of God’s promises: “For all the promises of God in him are yes, and in him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
This verse highlights two key aspects of God’s promises: their affirmation and their fulfillment through Christ. The phrase “all the promises of God” encompasses the entire scope of God’s commitments to us, found throughout Scripture. These promises are not subject to change or failure; they are firmly established in God’s character and His faithfulness.
The verse declares that in Christ, every promise is affirmed with a resounding “yes” and “Amen.” In other words, Jesus is the ultimate affirmation and fulfillment of God’s promises.
