“The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.”- Thich Nhat Hanh
When was the last time you gave your full attention to those you love? Have you really looked at them? Have you really listened to what they are trying to say?
We have but a limited time. Must we not use it for the most important things? Must we be forever so distracted by unnecessary clutter that demand our precious time and attention?
Your child may be trying to show you something, give him your attention. It may not be long before he pays his attention to other things. Your mother or your father may be telling you a story, listen to their story. Even when you’ve already heard it, listen again. You have not yet listened to their story the way they’re telling it to you today.
We say love is the most valuable thing, but where is love if our hearts and minds are filled with something else?
Give love your full attention today and you will rediscover what love is like. You will no longer need to rush, because when you get in touch with love, you will rediscover eternity.
He has also set eternity in their hearts… – Ecclesiastes 3:11, WEB
