The Places In My Heart

People don’t know my loneliness
They cannot see the darkness
That pains my heart
Everyday
I try to smile like it’s okay
But it’s not
I am not.
I am lost
I am broken.
There are places in my heart
That hurt too much
When touched,
Places where memories of old
Run deep
Memories that weep
When I cannot.
And people do not know.
They know not
For they see not.
