To Find Jesus

findjesus

True love is found only in complete self-forgetfulness, and it is only after we have detached ourselves from every creature that we find Jesus. – St. Therese of Lisieux

Why must God allow us to suffer without any comfort from men? Why must He allow it that we find no hand to hold us or listening ears to hear our cries?

It is not God’s will that we be deprived of family or friends. It is not His desire for anyone to feel alone. All that God desires for us is to be loved, for we are made out of love and for love.

If He ever allows us to feel deserted by people, it is to have the opportunity to have us seek Him and feel His presence. It is to draw us closer to Him, the One who truly loves us most, the One who has always pursued us in His great love!

When we have at last turned our eyes upon Him, we shall finally see the answer to our prayers. We shall finally know that we were never alone.

“He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” – Luke 15:20, WEB-BE
