Prayer For That Special Someone

prayer for that special someone 2012

I want someone who will think about me first when shopping for his Christmas gifts,
and who envisions a life with me in his future years.
Someone who gazes at me as though I were
the most precious thing he has,
and seeks to feel my hand whenever I’m not there,
I want someone who treasures each moment he spends with me
each laughter shared, each adventure taken, each lesson learned throughout the years.
I want someone who thinks fondly of me before he goes to sleep
and thinks about me again when he awakes
who finds meaning in what we have,
and who looks forward to all that we have yet to discover
in life, and in each other.
I want someone who sees the real me
and loves me just the same.
I want someone who can grow with me
and who is happy in seeing me grow.
I want someone who can be intimate with me
and yet is strong enough to set me free,
so I can be the best of me.
I want someone who can make me smile,
and who smiles in turn because of me,
someone who can make me a more loving person,
a stronger person,
someone who is neither selfish nor insecure
and someone who will love my loved ones with me,
who will be strong enough for me
when I can’t be that strong anymore.
I want someone who has a life of his own
yet is able to weave it gracefully with mine.
Together we will create a new and more beautiful life together
not that we’re empty without each other
but that together, we will fill up each other’s cup until it overflows.

This is my prayer for that someone,
and may God who knows my heart better than I know mine
grant that which is most beautiful of all!

To Look Using God’s Own Eyes

to look using God's own eyes 2012

I pray I could learn
to look at people,
the way God sees each one of us –

to be able to forego the little mistakes,
maybe even the big ones

to be able to see weaknesses
turned into strength

to know something’s hurting
and yet know that the hurt
would be healed in time

to look beyond judgment

to see with an understanding heart

to see what’s beautiful

to appreciate what’s good

to not measure anybody’s destiny
with their present plight

but to see real hope for everyone
the way God sees us

To know that orphans
have their Father

To know that those imprisoned
have One who will set them free

To see how the poor
will one day bask in God’s abundance

To see the brokenhearted
in days when God Himself
will cradle them upon His lap

To be able to see with God’s own eyes
is to see with gladness,
with hope,
and with a love so strong
it could never ever fail!

A Prayer for My Dear Friend

a prayer for my dear friend

Dear Lord, bless my friend who came from Thee

Save her from every harm

Rescue her from every evil and pain.

Guide always her path

And provide her with your Light,

That she may not stray,

And always find her way back home.

Protect her thoughts oh, Lord,

That she may not be anxious

But have the assurance that comes from Your Grace.

Surround her heart with your strength

That she may live in love

And thereby live a meaningful life

Wherever she may be.

May she never forget our friendship

And find in it a treasure that does not fade.

May she remember that there is a person she can lean on to

In times of need,

In times when she may cry.

And even in those times when I can’t be there

To hold her hand,

May she always know she’s not alone

For You are there, O Lord,

The One who has given us this blessing of friendship,

The One who will protect its joy forever more.

Three Things I Asked In Prayer

three things I asked in prayer 2012This morning, there were three things I’ve asked for in prayer.  They just came out naturally, from my heart.  They’re simple things many people may not ask for given three things to pray for.

1.  Health

I prayed for health so I could do more things and be of service to more people.  I’ve noticed that when my physical health was down, all my energies contract and I can’t attend to anyone else but myself.  That’s nature’s way, for the millions of tiny living systems in your body to concentrate first in your healing before they could do anything else. I pray for health.  When I am healthy I am less irritable, I am more tolerable, I have more buffer in giving of myself and I can accomplish many things.

2. Courage

I prayed for courage to be able to accomplish what is right.  We may be given health, but having courage to do what should be done is certainly a different thing.  In these difficult times, people often swallow their courage in place of something else, something that often proves to be not worth it.  Courage defines your soul, which later on defines the outward manifestation of your being, your life.

3. A Sense of Humor

We may forget many things, but may we never forget to laugh.  After all, all things are passing, even our troubles.  We are beings of eternity, so what does it matter how many blunders you make today? You will learn out of it, and you will come out of it a better person, a better “you” that the whole world would be thankful for.  A sense of humor is a sign of confidence.  It tells us we can survive the storm, even if it messes up our hair and drenches our best suits.

O troubled soul
cast your cares upon Him
who knows you most
and who loves you like no other
