Through The Fiercest Storms

throughthefierceststorms

He himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion, and they woke him up, and told him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we are dying?” He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea,“Peace! Be still!”The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them,“Why are you so afraid? How is it that you have no faith?” – Mark 4:38-40, WEB

God will be with you not only through sunshine and happy days but even in the darkest night, and especially through the fiercest storms.

Our God is a victor who overcomes. He is the Light that overcomes darkness, the Good that overpowers and vanquishes every evil and sin.

Think not therefore that the only way He could save us is to keep us from going through any difficulty or trial. Think not that the best way He could ever show His power is to keep us from every storm.

On the other hand, it is through the fiercest of storms that He shows His might. Right there, through the wind and rain, in the valley of the shadow of death, He gives courage that overcomes, hope that vanquishes despair, light that overpowers all darkness.

His presence is not one that is afraid of suffering, nor is His strength one that fades with trials. It is such that can endure even the sorrows of the cross.

He is with us, always, especially through the storm. Never think that you’re alone or that you have been forgotten. God is with you, even in the eye of the fiercest storm.

“Let hope be not quenched in the blackness of night,
Though the cyclone awhile may have blotted the light,
For behind the great darkness the stars ever shine,
And the light of God’s heavens, His love shall make thine,
Let no gloom dim thine eyes, but uplift them on high
To the face of thy God and the blue of His sky.

“The storm is thy shelter from danger and sin,
And God Himself takes thee for safety within;
The tempest with Him passeth into deep calm,
And the roar of the winds is the sound of a psalm.
Be glad and serene when the tempest clouds form;
God smiles on His child in the eye of the storm.”
-Streams in the Desert, April 23
