I Took a Cab to Nowhere (a poem)

I took a cab to nowhere
’cause I just want to ride along…
I’d like to look out of the window
as I put my headphones on.

Don’t ask me where I’m going
I really cannot tell…
Just drive around and let me,
let me tell you when we get there.

For once, I don’t want to know it
don’t want to see too far ahead…
For once, I want to go somewhere
instead of crying on my bed.

So I took a cab to nowhere;
it’s the perfect day to ride…
The rain is pouring while my heart is aching
and I’ve got no better place to hide.

My Heart is Steel (a poem)

My heart is steel;
I cannot love you
the way you wish
to be loved.

My heart cannot flutter
as though it would die
at the sight of you
or when it hears you.

It cannot die
for it lives!
It cannot shake
for it is still.

My heart is steel…
Though you ask
I won”t go,
I’d never leave.

Though you try
to make me cry
or though you try
to say goodbye…

Nothing would change,
I can’t erase
the mem’ry of your face.
My heart is steel.

I Tried To Run Away From Love (a poem)

I tried to run away from love,
I tried my best to flee…
For there seems to be no chance at all
That love can stay for you and me.

I tried to shelter my own heart,
I tried so hard to look away…
For only when we are apart
Can we be saved from all the pain.

But despite the things I’ve ever done,
Despite my will to go away,
I’ve realized I cannot run
While my heart yearns that it must stay.

So hear me now as I hold your hand;
Look in my eyes so you would see.
I tried to run away from love,
But love has stayed for you and me.

Sometimes, There Are No Words (a poem)

Sometimes there are no words,
there are only feelings.
Feelings we can’t quite describe
as either happy or sad,
feelings we can’t even place
where we can look at them
and see them for what they are.

For how could we even start to understand?
How could we even catch the words
to let others know
how we truly feel inside?

Within us is a storm of hail and fire,
anguish and misery,
loss and profound grief.
Grief that is so bitter
because it has once been something else?-?
something sweet and beautiful,
a radiance that has just fallen into shadow.

Because sometimes there are no words,
only tears…
Tears that are kind enough to reveal
the turmoil we feel within.
Tears that speak when we cannot,
tears that burn,
tears that cleanse and purge
our soul at the same time.

Tears never need an explanation.
They never need permission at all to speak.
They fall where they must fall.
They gather where our darkest emotions strangle us
and they disperse as rain falling amidst a barren land.

We try to wipe them away,
we try to ignore them.
But they come again and again,
they carry us where we dare not go.
There where our dreams mock us.
There where friends have betrayed us.
There where lovers have abandoned us.

And though sometimes there are no words,
there are lessons.
Lessons that give meaning to pain,
that give strength to weakness,
that give hope to despair.

For there, where we have been mocked,
we find a warm hand that heals.
There, where we have been betrayed,
we find a faithful soul.
And there, where we have been abandoned,
we are blessed and we are found.

And Let The Stars Shine Upon You

To you who has nothing
To you who has no one
To you who has nowhere to go
May you find some comfort where you are.

May the stars smile upon you
May they guide your path
May the moon be gracious unto you
May she give you peace tonight.

May you find your voice
And may you find your strength
May you never lose hope
May you never lose your faith.

I know that at times
It’s so hard to find your way
But remember that these are times
That can teach you to be brave.

So walk out of the shadows
And set your sights on high
Someone’s watching over you
As you fight with all your might!
