I Took a Cab to Nowhere (a poem)

I took a cab to nowhere
’cause I just want to ride along…
I’d like to look out of the window
as I put my headphones on.

Don’t ask me where I’m going
I really cannot tell…
Just drive around and let me,
let me tell you when we get there.

For once, I don’t want to know it
don’t want to see too far ahead…
For once, I want to go somewhere
instead of crying on my bed.

So I took a cab to nowhere;
it’s the perfect day to ride…
The rain is pouring while my heart is aching
and I’ve got no better place to hide.
