Love Waits

lovewaits

Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you… – Isaiah 30, WEBBE

Love waits. Love is willing to wait because true love can never be replaced. We can love others, it is true. But we can never love another in the same way that we have loved before.

In the same way, God waits for us, for our love. If human love can occupy the whole heart, how much more must the love of God? In God’s heart, there is a place which only you can fill, and He IS waiting for you there.

I WAIT

I wait for you, my love
I wait…
I will not open my heart
to another.

For who is there
who can ever be like you?
Who is there
that can ever take your place?

In my heart is a space
that is so sacred
and none can enter in
but you.

And I shall wait for you
though it takes forever,
though my heart bleeds
and my all consumed.

I wait because I love you
And love waits
for the only one
that it loves.

“I was made and meant to look for you and wait for you and become yours forever.” – Robert Browning

You Will Be Stronger

youwillbestronger

“I am not concerned that you have fallen – I am concerned that you arise.” – Abraham Lincoln

There are times when we feel anxious about the problems we’re going to face. We feel our strength is not enough to face them. We don’t know how we’d ever make it through.

But take heart! It is not your strength now that will determine your victory. It is not by your own power but by God’s strength that you will overcome the challenges coming your way.

STRONGER

I’m going to be stronger
By God’s grace I know I shall be!
I have my fears but I’ll face them
I won’t let them get the best of me

I’m going to be stronger
I may be broken, but I’m gonna mend
God is my Healer, my Beloved Friend
I’ll trust where He takes me though I can’t see the end

I’m going to be stronger
there is no sense in despair
For God is my Refuge, my Armor and my Shield
He will certainly help me as I rise again!

There is no king saved by the multitude of an army.
A mighty man is not delivered by great strength.
A horse is a vain thing for safety,
neither does he deliver any by his great power.
Behold, the LORD’s eye is on those who fear him,
on those who hope in his loving kindness…
-Psalm 33, WEBBE

Can You Stay With Me?

canustaywme

“A friend is more than a therapist or confessor, even though a friend can sometimes heal us and offer us God’s forgiveness. A friend is that other person with whom we can share our solitude, our silence, and our prayer. A friend is that other person with whom we can look at a tree and say, “Isn’t that beautiful,” or sit on the beach and silently watch the sun disappear under the horizon. With a friend we don’t have to say or do something special. With a friend we can be still and know that God is there with both of us.” – Henri J.M. Nouwen

Stay

Won’t you stay with me in this silence,
there isn’t much to say;
Still I want you by my side,
as I watch the tides.

Let’s look at the sea
as the waves crash by the shore;
Let’s breathe the salty air
until I can sense peace again.

For there is a storm within me
that’s raging fiercely right now,
and there is nothing I can do about it
though I’ve really tried.

All that remains is to wait ‘til it’s over,
until I can be myself again.
But until then,
can I ask you to stay?

“Could you not watch one hour with me?” – Matthew 26, DRA

To Be Heard and Understood

wescream

Listen to me,
You may say you’ve already heard
What I’m going to say
But you have not heard it from me,
And you don’t know my story.

Even if you say you already know,
You have not lived my life as me,
The most you can do is to listen,
For in listening, you may become part of my story
And becoming part of it,
You may finally start to understand.

If I Didn’t Listen

Forgive me if I didn’t listen well,
If I didn’t hear you when you spoke.
Forgive me if I blocked and hindered
The thoughts you wanted to share.

I was more occupied with my thoughts
Than with your thoughts,
I was more concerned with my feelings
Than I was with yours.

I was not able to hear
What you truly wanted to say.
I was not able to know you better,
I wasn’t able to value who you are.

Forgive me for I should have shown more compassion,
I should have respected you.
I should have opened up my heart,
So you could have opened yours.

Forgive me for I have made you feel more alone,
I have not listened to your fears or to your pain.
I was so absorbed in my own defenses,
In my own hurts and fears.

Forgive me for I have not listened well,
I should have known we’re not so different after all.
If I had only listened,
I may not have felt so alone.

He who gives answer before he hears, that is folly and shame to him. – Proverbs 18:13, WEB

We scream because we feel we’re not being heard. – Jocelyn Soriano

When I Can’t Find The Way

startover

When I Can’t Find the Way

Being lost.
Having walked so long
Yet never finding what you’re
Supposed to be looking for.
Knocking on doors
But none of them leading anywhere
Or worse
Knocking on doors
That are locked
And never finding the key
Trapped.
Trying again and again
And failing.
Hoping over and over
Only to be disappointed.
Where is my escape?
Wanting to run
But cannot even find the way.
Wanting to see the light
Yet all I see is darkness.
Can you even see the darkness?
Where is hope then in such a place?
When I have tried with all my very best
And with all the strength I have in me,
There is only one way out that’s left
And only God’s fingers can point the way.
How do I see His fingers in the dark?
Can I even know He is there?
When I cannot see,
What I can do is believe –
Believe that He is there
Seeing me
Guiding me
Protecting me
I don’t need to see
I just have to trust that HE sees me
And because He sees with love
He will keep me
Under the shadow of His wings.

“When you have nothing left but God, you have more than enough to start over again.” – Mother Teresa

I said, “I have worked, but how hopeless it is!
I have used up my strength, but have accomplished nothing.”
Yet I can trust the Lord to defend my cause;
he will reward me for what I do.
