Light In The Darkness

“To the extent that we know this God made man, we come to love him madly. I would like you to know him in order to be truly in love with him… How not to love this Jesus of our soul? He is uncreated Beauty, eternal Wisdom, Goodness, Life, Love… Oh! Love Jesus. Who can love you better? He thirsts for your heart” – St. Teresa of the Andes

In This Dark and Lonely World

In this dark and lonely world…
I found you.
I found someone
Who will take away all my masks
And see me for who I really am…
See me without judging me
Or accusing me…
See me without backing away
Being either frightened or ashamed…
See me for who I really am
And love me just the same.

In this dark and lonely world
Where everyone’s so busy
Trying to make their dreams come true,
You came.
You noticed me and at last I found someone who is interested in my own dreams…
The truth is I have forgotten them.
But you made me remember
And everything that seemed so far away and impossible just became nearer and more real.
They became real because your faith in me was true.

In this dark and lonely world
Something happened
Someone came
Light has touched me
And changed me
It entered so deep within my heart
And unfroze me.
And in that moment,
I knew what it’s like to be happy
Because
You found me
Because
You took me in
Because
You loved me.

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.” – John 1, WEBBE

“Everything on earth, dear Lucho, seems to shrink, to lose value before the Divinity which, like an infinite Sun, continues to shine upon my miserable soul with its rays. Oh, if you could go to the depths of my soul even for an instant, you’d see me captivated by that Beauty, by that incomprehensible Goodness. How I’d love to bind the hearts of creatures and surrender them to divine Love! You’ve never known the heaven that I, through God’s mercy, possess in my heart. Yes. I have a heaven in my soul, because God is there, and God is heaven… When people love, they can’t help but speaking of their loved one. What happens then if the one loved has within Himself every possible perfection? I don’t know how I can do a thing but contemplate and love Him. What can you expect, if Jesus Christ that Mad Lover has made me fall madly in love with Himself?”
– St. Teresa of the Andes to her brother Lucho

God Can Give You More

Consider all the past as nothing, and say, like David: Now I begin to love my God. – St. Francis de Sales

God Wants To Give You More

Do not look to your past griefs
for your heart will only be burdened today,
do not look at other people’s lives
for your soul will only be filled with regret.

But look at this moment,
look at what you have.
See how God has carried you through
and is still with you now.

Look towards the future,
the future He has made for you,
see the things you can still possess,
the person you can still become.

God can restore
more than all that you have ever lost
God can give
more than you could have ever dreamed.

All is not yet the end
when you have God,
When God takes your hand,
eternity has just begun!

Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on towards the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 3, WEBBE

In His Presence

He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
-Psalm 23

If my soul has one true desire, it is to be in Your presence Lord, to see your face, and to remain always upon Your loving arms.

Linger

I know what they say
About moving on
About the way of life
And how time flies
I know there is much to do
But may I linger here awhile?

I know how things
Must come and go
How we must do
What we can do
To carry on
I know how all things change
But may I linger here awhile?

Let me linger for a while
Here where time stands still
And there is just you and I,
Where the sun begins to rise
As we walk along the shore
Where the breeze is gentle
And where the waves are kind.

Let me linger here with you
Where all is pure and rare
Where we need not hurry
Where we need not worry
Where we can let all
the beautiful things in
and leave all the shadows behind.

Let us linger here while we can
Let us etch this moment
Until it can never be erased.
For here is where I see
Here is where I live
Here is where I have you
And you have all of me.

God’s Help

Sometimes, just when you think you’re about to experience the worst, God sends His help and surprises you instead with all the very best!

For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. – Matthew 16, WEBBE

There are times when something that seems so easy becomes difficult, and though we thought we had the strength and the resources to draw from, they seemed barely sufficient to carry us through the task at hand.

On the other hand, there are times when despite all our fears and helplessness in facing a difficult trial, we come out of it not only unscathed but truly blessed and overflowing with gratitude for all the unexpected gifts and wonders we have received!

Before undergoing said trials, we doubted how we can overcome everything with the strength we have. We know that by ourselves, we are certain to fail, and so we asked for God’s help, invoking His assistance and trusting in His great mercy and love. We prepared with all we’ve got however, and readied ourselves to face the unpleasant, and to make sacrifices if need be.

But instead of facing hard times, we have faced happy times. Instead of being burdened, our hearts were made light! Instead of loss, we have received blessings far more than we could have ever imagined. O, how kind and generous is God. How He knows our weaknesses and how He desires us to trust Him at all times. Those who hope in Him indeed shall never be put to shame!

Tears of Love

I see now that no person who has ever loved has ever been spared from tears.

“He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147, WEBBE

We know not love until we have cried, until that love has been crystallized in our tears.

Sometimes that tear comes from the fullness of joy, from having found something we never even hoped or dreamed.

But sometimes those tears come from being broken and crushed from deep within. And we wonder if we could ever be the same again.

I think we could never be the same again.

For love changes us.

It breaks us and opens us and tests us. It inspires us and crushes us. It seeks to know who we really are, and who we can really be.

And after love has found us, whether it stays or it departs, we know that it has forever changed us.

No one is spared from tears when one loves.

But if that love be true, no tear is ever bitter. We may feel its pain, but we will always savour a kind of sweetness that forever enriches our hearts.
