The Stubborn One

They tell me I could make it through,
They tell me I’d survive this,
They tell me I’d soon find out,
How strong I really am.

“I could live without you”,
That’s what I’m supposed to say,
I’d be strong like they told me to,
And I’d be okay.

But I don’t want to be strong,
I don’t want to be the one who survives,
I don’t want to be the one who never cries,
Could I hold back the tears once we say goodbye?

I don’t want to say it,
Yes, I’d be the stubborn one,
The one who wouldn’t forget,
The one who never lets you go.
