The Humility of the King

Continuing the series about kings, I can’t help but notice the majestic position enjoyed by people who have occupied said positions in history.  As a result, they were given due respect, honor and glory.  People bow down to them.  In many instances, commoners or ordinary folks are not even allowed to look at them directly. They are not even to be touched.

How much more then is the glory of Jesus, the King of all kings!  To Him, every knee must bow.  To Him, all nature must give acclaim.

I think I could never truly fathom the mystery of His incarnation as a human being, how the Pure Light from above could ever choose to be born in a humble stable, to walk among us, to talk to us as only friends do.

Great indeed is His humility and love!  To whom could we ever compare His goodness?  He who must be served has served and has washed the feet of the apostles.  He who must command has given His very life for us.  There indeed is the True King whose reign shall never end.
