Love Is Never In Vain

It is never a waste to love! To love is beautiful. To love is good. To love is to become unselfish and to desire for the best in the other. What’s useless is to let regrets linger, to allow jealousy to enslave you, to try to possess that which must be free, and to hurt others in the end and thereby destroy that which is supposed to be the most beautiful thing of all.

Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. – 1 Cor. 13, WEB

It Is Never a Waste To Love

Do me this favor and tell me
It is never in vain to love.
Tell me I shouldn’t go on crying
For all the years I spent wishin’
For all the time I gave and gave
Without receiving anything in return.

Yes, do me this favor and tell me
That the love I gave wasn’t wasted.
That all this time I was doing
Something that has some meaning.
Some worth in the scheme of things.

And though I may not see
Any love returning
Though I may not know how or when
Things will turn out well,
I will hold on in faith believin’
That there is some good
in the scheme of things.
That the time we spend loving
Is a time worth spending
And the heart that has truly loved,
Will yield its harvest in the end.
